The History

Passion leads the way

Started on different paths in our journey, one road lead us to the creation of Voyage Island gin. This gin is crafted out of passion and belief that dreams do come true. As a craft distiller we come from a different backgrounds and sharing the same passion for new world gins.

We took the path less travelled and ventured to the unknown, packed by years of experince and high quality local raw materials while still adhering to tradition in our approach. Thus, we embark on a journey together to present this craft gin for all to share.

Tradition as modern interpertation

Our history, dating back into the 17th century our ancestor has been known as skilled and daring seafarers. They uncover the treasures of our islands, the botanicals, herbs and spices of Indonesia.
 
Bugis sailors and merchants from Celebes guided by the mariner’s sailing priciples known as "Amanna Gappa" which is the text of trade agreement written in 18 lontara. The concepts of ownership in the charter were later adopted into the law of sea which was formulated in various international conventions. These laid foundation to the opening of Indonesia’s trade routes for herbs and spices to the region and other parts of the world.
 
These highly sought after aromatic floras of the tropic, thus inspired the creation of Voyage Island gin.

Uncover Archipelago’s Treasures

A modern twist on our gin, we create harmony in taste and flavour from exotic roots, Balinese pomelo, pepper from Maluku, Javanese coriender seeds, cardomom from Sumatra and many more to define our rich and structured island gin, the true expresssion of the archipelago. From Sabang to Merauke, we picked these exotic ingredients to contribute the complex yet elegant flavour and aroma. 

TASTING NOTES: On the nose, sweet aromatics of Juniper with hints of fresh citrus and warm coriander. Pallate: Soft and rounded flavours of juniper and fresh orange peels. Balanced by spicy notes of peppers and cardamom. Long lingering finish of liqorice sweetness and slight bitterness of herbal from Fennel seeds.
